Arrangements in place during the last financial year for identifying, planning and meeting the training needs of staff employed by the service provider.

All staff receive face to face practical training in areas such as Moving and Handling of People

Fire Safety, and also online mandatory training with a reputable care skills provider which must be completed prior to starting employment in their job roles These are automatically updated annually .In addition to these, staff undergo induction training and the manager will arrange additional training based on their interests and job roles, as identified through observation and supervision.

Arrangements in place during the last financial year for the recruitment and retention of staff employed by the service provider.

We have 41 permanent staff including full/part time and bank staff. Staff retention is high at Ty Victoria. Our agency usage was 2 night nurses shift from agency , with staff generally covering any extra shifts in house.

We have a comprehensive approach to supporting new starters,

giving staff a positive experience from application to induction.

During the reporting period, Care Inspectorate Wales visited our service. We’re proud their findings show we provide safe, effective, and supportive care for the people who use our services, meeting the required standards under section 27(1) of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.

We also carry out regular reviews to make sure the care and support we offer continues to meet people’s needs and helps them achieve positive outcomes.
